Support Through Court (Chelmsford)

My Story

Thank you for supporting our team in fundraising for the 20th anniversary of the London Legal Walk. We will be walking 10km on Tuesday 18th June to support the most vulnerable in society to access life changing free legal advice.

Our team is: Emma, Ikra, Kez, Julian, Jasmin, Declan, Russell, Anna, Oyin, Timi, Sophie, Chea, Nathan and Nikhola

We are walking with the Lady Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers to raise funds for Support Through Court, helping those facing the civil and family courts alone. Cuts in legal aid and funding for advice agencies, mean more people than ever face court alone. People have no choice but to represent themselves at a moment that could have life-changing outcomes such as loss of access to children or homelessness. They find themselves in a legal system that was not designed for people to navigate without the help of a lawyer, desperate for somewhere to turn.

We provide a safe space, with volunteers who listen to each client’s story, help them to problem-solve and decide next steps, source reliable legal information, explain complex procedures, complete court forms, and clearly present statements.

With the ongoing cost of living crisis, your support is needed more than ever. Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.

Many thanks for your support.
