My Story

Thank you for supporting our fundraising efforts! St Hilda's East is proud to offer a free legal advice service to the residents of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham and on Tuesday 18th June our team will be walking 10km on the London Legal Walk to raise funds to help the most vulnerable in society to access life changing free legal advice.

We are walking with the Lady Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers to raise funds for St Hilda's East where, for 135 years, we have worked to combat the challenges arising from deprivation and social exclusion by providing a range of high quality social, healthy living, educational, and recreational programmes for people of all ages and backgrounds.

The cost-of-living crisis has had a devastating impact on some residents in our community and our legal advice services have provided life changing support, for example to people facing the threat of eviction from their homes. We have a particular focus on supporting the local Bangladeshi community who often hear of our trusted service through word- of-mouth.

In all we do, we strive to break down barriers and reduce isolation, enabling access to learning, training and opportunities, empowering people to reach their goals.
