Not Beyond Redemption

My Story

Thank you for supporting our team in fundraising for the 20th anniversary of the London Legal Walk. We will be walking 10km on Tuesday 18th June to support the most vulnerable in society to access life changing free Family legal advice, with all proceeds going to Not Beyond Redemption

Our team is: Xanthe, Miriam, Charlotte, Avni, Camilla, Sienna, Sophia

We are walking with the Lady Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers to raise funds for Not Beyond Redemption (NBR).
NBR provides mothers in prison with free Family Law advice and representation to help them re-establish and maintain contact with their children. NBR was founded with the fundamental belief that legal assistance should be accessible to those who need it most, regardless of their financial circumstances.

The challenges faced by incarcerated mothers are exacerbated by limited access to Legal Aid since 2013, leaving them uninformed about their parental rights and unable to advocate for vital contact with their children. Consequently, many mothers have lost connection with their children, creating a distressing situation for both the individuals behind bars and the children they leave behind. Women in prison are especially vulnerable, grappling with issues like domestic violence, childhood abuse, mental health problems, and substance abuse. Recognising the transformative power of healthy family relationships in rehabilitation, NBR operates free legal clinics in women’s prisons across England, providing guidance on private family law, court representation, and legal advice to maintain and rebuild connections with children. Without NBR, these women have nowhere else to turn.

Not Beyond Redemption is steadfast in its commitment to reconnecting these women with their children, paving the way for a better future for all. We look beyond the crime and the sentence, focusing on the person and their children.

With the ongoing cost of living crisis, your support is needed more than ever. Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.

Many thanks for your support.
