My Story

Please support our team in fundraising for the 2026 London Legal Walk who are: Erica Lang, Mallika, Laurie Hartley, Nadine, Harriet, Jade-Arsema Godin, Jawad Anjum, Ethan, Francesca, Micol Carmignani, Janis, Jessica, Dea

We once again took part to walk 10km on Tuesday 9 June organised by the London Legal Support Trust who have pledged to donate 100% of the funds we raise for our frontline advice on immigration, asylum support, welfare benefits, housing and community care.

We are there for people currently subjected to the Hostile Environment. In addition to the maze of complex immigration rules, immigration enforcement has spread into everyday experiences. Basic tasks like opening a bank account or renting a place to live have become impossible for many migrants. People fleeing from war and displacement face further insecurity and trauma in the UK. Cuts to legal aid, lack of effective representation, indefinite detention, unjust welfare systems and expansion of the immigration controls into public services including the NHS contribute to growing destitution, poor mental health and isolation:

"Thank you to Migrants Organise. You are taking in lot of people you don't know, and making them feel at home. Wherever I am in the UK in the future I will always come back to you, like a mother ship. I’m impressed that the people here are so kind, so loving, so calm and able to reassure. There has always been someone here for me which has been a big help during this tough process- what you are doing is incredibly important. I hope you can also keep going. I will always be here for you. You have become family. Migrants Organise has been crucial in helping me navigating the system - from finding a doctor to every step of life“

Every step we take and every penny we raise brings us closer to a community where access to justice and dignity are accessible to all. Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able and share with your contacts.

Many thanks for your support and solidarity!

Migrants Organise provides a platform for refugees and migrants to organise for power, dignity and justice. We combine advice and support for individuals subjected to hostile immigration policies with grassroots organising, advocacy, research and campaigning to dismantle structural racism. Our big vision is a welcoming society based on principles of dignity, justice and solidarity. Our mission is to organise with migrants, refugees and our allies and build a movement for migrant justice.
