My Story

Thank you for supporting our team in fundraising for the 20th anniversary of the London Legal Walk. We will be walking 10km on Tuesday 18th June to support the most vulnerable in society to access life changing free legal advice.

Our team is: Paula Twigg, Paramjeet Lehl, Therese Reinheimer-Jones, Monalisa Caba

We are walking with the Lady Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers to raise funds for the Mary Ward Legal Centre.

The Mary Ward Legal Centre has a long history of providing free legal advice to Londoners. Over 100 years ago the Mary Ward Settlement was established to provide education and social services for the local community. The Settlement provided a free legal advice service for the local community, the ‘Poor Mans Lawyer’ service, a precursor to the post war legal aid scheme. Today, the Settlement operates the Mary Ward Legal Centre and also the Mary Ward Centre, providing adult education.

The Mary Ward Legal Centre promotes access to justice and quality legal advice services. We employ caseworkers and solicitors who provide advice and casework in complex debt, employment, housing and welfare benefits issues which often involve tribunal or court proceedings.

With the ongoing cost of living crisis, your support is needed more than ever. Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.

Many thanks for your support.
