My Story

Thank you for supporting our team for the 2024 Guildford Legal Walk.

Our team is: Lucas Hobbs, Fiona Moss, Hayley Woolf, Joe Bedford, Lyssa Reeve, Emma Gargaro, Tara Moore, Katie Pentecost, Hannah Keys-Lumley, Natalie Mewes, David Irving

We are taking on a sponsored 10km walk on Monday 8th July to raise funds for advice agencies in Surrey.

At the end of 2023, 4 million families (34% of all those on low incomes) were sitting on debts used explicitly to help pay for food, housing costs and other household bills.

As the cost-of-living soars, the funds we raise together will be a beacon of hope for those struggling in our community. Our collective steps will keep the lights on, and doors open for individuals facing dire circumstances, just like David.

David's Story:

David was facing a complex array of challenges, including housing issues and financial struggles. An adviser from a free legal advice agency in Surrey played a pivotal role in conducting a thorough review of David's situation. They successfully secured additional monthly income through a Universal Credit application, providing immediate financial relief for David's family. Despite other remaining challenges, their intervention has had an immediate and profound impact on David and his family.

Every step we take and every penny we raise brings us closer to a community where justice and support are accessible to all.

Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.

Many thanks for your support.
