My Story

Thank you for supporting me in fundraising for the 20th anniversary of the London Legal Walk. I will be walking (and possibly weather depending, pushing a pram along the route!) on Tuesday 18th June to support the most vulnerable in society to access life changing free legal advice. Specifically I'm walking to raise funds for Working Families, the UK's national charity for parents and carers.

Over the last five years I've had the opportunity to volunteer with Working Families offering basic pro bono advice to their service users (as a banking lawyer by profession leaving the more tricky stuff to the experts!). Being on maternity leave this year has shown me why, more than ever, the service they provide is so absolutely vital.

Through the Working Families hotline, the charity fields calls from those struggling to get by. The mother who has been fired just because she’s pregnant. The father who can’t access the basic flexibility needed to provide essential care for his children. The parent who is working three jobs but still can’t find the money to pay for childcare and put food on the table. As the UK’s national charity for working parents and carers, our free legal advice service has never been more in demand. Every penny raised will help to empower thousands of working parents and carers.

In London, 25% of people are living in poverty after housing costs.
With the ongoing cost of living crisis, your support is needed more than ever. Please sponsor my walk as generously as you are able.

Many thanks for your support.
