In 2025, 7.1 million low-income households (60%) were going without essential goods, including 4.1 million experiencing food insecurity in the previous 30 days. Further, 4.4 million low- income households (37%) were behind on at least one bill or credit commitment in May 2025.
With the continuous rise in the cost of living, your support has become ever more vital. The money raised by our Walk is essential to supporting our local advice charities so that they can continue providing their life-changing free legal advice services to people like Mary.
Mary's Story
Mary, a 20-year-old single mother, was drowning in £4,000 debt after her work hours were cut during lockdown. Struggling to afford food and other life essentials, she reached out for help.
A local Oxford advice agency put her into 'Breathing Space,' giving her a two-month reprieve from debt pressure. With their support and a Debt Relief Order, Mary is now debt-free and can finally breathe easier, focusing on her young son without the constant financial stress.
Every step we take and every penny we raise brings us closer to a community where justice and support are accessible to all.
Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.
Many thanks for your support.
