Citizens Advice In West Sussex (North, South, East)
My Story
Thank you for supporting our team for the Crawley Legal Walk 2026.
Our team is: Harriet Elwood, Ben Ferris, Amy Marshall, Kate Shillingford, Laura Sajnog, Adeyinka Funso-Adebayo, Donna Barrington-Smith, Jason Mather, Megavadee Seenan, Helen Oswald, Nick Johnson, Caroline Kusch and Robert McCaul.
We are taking on a sponsored 10km walk on Thursday 16th July to raise funds for advice charities in Crawley.
In 2025, 7.1 million low-income households (60%) were going without essential goods, including 4.1 million experiencing food insecurity in the previous 30 days. Further, 4.4 million low- income households (37%) were behind on at least one bill or credit commitment in May 2025
With the continuous rise in the cost of living, your support has become ever more vital. The money raised by our Walk is essential to supporting our local advice charities so that they can continue providing their life-changing free legal advice services to people like Alan.
Alan's Story
Alan had multiple health issues and only his state pension, leaving him without enough income to heat his home or buy food. Relying on a friend for meals, he sought out the help of his local Citizens Advice.
The team helped him secure emergency heating support and identified unclaimed benefits for rent and health costs. Guiding him through applications, Alan is now £700 better off monthly. He no longer fears winter, can heat his home, and lives independently, feeling secure and well.
Every step we take and every penny we raise brings us closer to a community where justice and support are accessible to all.
Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.
Many thanks for your support.
