Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP)

My Story

Thank you for supporting our team in fundraising for the 20th anniversary of the London Legal Walk. We will be walking 10km on Tuesday 18th June to support the most vulnerable in society to access life changing free legal advice.

Our team is: Leila, Josh, Lily, Marie-Anne, Lilly, Richard, Gimhani, Alice Webb, Holly Hepburn, Kat

We are walking with the Lady Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers to raise funds for Asylum Support Appeals Project.

We reduce destitution amongst asylum seekers by protecting their legal rights to food and shelter. ASAP carries out three types of work:

We offer free, high-quality legal representation and advice to asylum seekers and refused asylum seekers appealing to the Asylum Support Tribunal against the Home Office decisions to refuse or discontinue their housing, financial subsistence, or both.

We provide asylum support advice and training to frontline organisations, advice agencies and legal practitioners working with asylum seekers. We provide a range of training options and operate a second-tier Advice Line for advisers.

Policy, lobbying and litigation to improve policies and procedures on asylum support.

With the ongoing cost of living crisis, your support is needed more than ever. Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.

Many thanks for your support.
