Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP)
My Story
Thank you for supporting our team in fundraising for the 2026 London Legal Walk. We will be taking on 10km on Tuesday 9 June to help those in need gain access to life-changing free legal advice.
Our team is: Shivani, Kat, Alice, Jess, Richard Copson, Pragya, Marie-Anne, Aideen, Mark.
By taking part in this walk our team is raising funds for the London Legal Support Trust, who are organising the event. The Trust have pledged to donate 100% of the funds we raise for them, so every pound you donate in support will mean a pound going to ASAP.
We reduce destitution amongst people seeking asylum by protecting their legal rights to food and shelter. ASAP does this in three ways:
- We offer free, high-quality legal advice to people across the UK who are appealing to the Asylum Support Tribunal against the Home Office's decision to refuse or stop their accommodation or financial support.
- We increase access to high quality advice on asylum support across the UK, by supporting organisations to build their asylum support skills through free training, a second-tier advice line and an online network of advisors.
- We tackle the root causes of destitution and increase access to justice through policy work and litigation.
Alongside this, we run a women's project to address the barriers faced by women in accessing safe housing and financial support within the asylum system.
Every step we take and every penny we raise brings us closer to a community where justice and support are accessible to all.
Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.
Many thanks for your support.
